The Battlefield 3 beta is entirely swing and over the weekend some clever chaps decided to generate a mod to the PC version in the game..The gamers modded the Operation Metro map to support 128 players instead of the standard 32 because why don't you right We knew this stuff were gonna happen but whatever you may donrrrt you have seen coming was EA and DICEs response..According to Rock Paper Shotgun In an official statement for the forum which now seems like its been pulled they claimed that playing on the hacked servers can ca use your bank account to get compromised stats to become altered or another issues to arise which may result in having your bank account being banned by EA. If your account does get banned it mean some other EA game you might have on your own account would even be unavailable..YIKES That is a significant punishment. Especially considering some of those mods are popping up inside the official Battlelog browser. Considering that DICE has recently come forward to the Battlefield 3 is intended for the PC and being hand-crafted to the PC I understand these are protective of the product. But punishing the consumers who pay for your product only for experimenting and then threatening all the opposite products they covered from you seems just mean-spirited..What can you guys think about this Does DICE and EA have the right to do this Have you seen any hacked servers or mods for that beta Do you think that hacking and modding for PC games is simply something publishers should stop worrying about Let me me know your ideas in a very comment below.
